MR.DIY has kicked off its first new year series of ‘MR DIY Home Improvement’ program for the corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative by helping refurbished and make good of a family home at the Program Perumahan Rakyat (PPR) Bukit Jalil. 

The MR.DIY Cares team visited the home in early December 2022 to identify which area that needs to be focused on for the home improvement project. With the excitement of bringing joy, on 17th January 2023, 14 MR DIY Cares volunteers including from Distribution Centre and Retail Management department stepped forward to clean, refurbish, repaint and organize the kitchen, and living room area and turn them into the new heart of home.

The kitchen wall was given a torch of bright coat of cream-colored paint, using the tools that can be found at MR.DIY stores such as paint roller, paint brush and paint tray. The team designated efficient ways to store kitchen utensils and essentials by grouping the items together, to make it easier for the family members to reach and store them by using all the appliances that can be purchased at MR.DIY stores which are the wall-mounted shelf, under sink expendable racks, rotating spice storage racks, water dispenser, kitchen sink water tap, garbage bin, broom set, door magnetic locks, door cabinet hinges, cabinet knobs, egg tray, movable 3 tier storage racks and floor mats. 

Apart from that, MR.DIY Cares team also fills the house with Chinese New Year decoration to liven up the festive mood using the lantern, door banner, CNY pillow and door hanging decorations which also are available at the MR.DIY stores during festival season.

MR.DIY Home Improvement is a CSR Project that encourages other organizations helping the B40 communities to refurbish and improve their homeplace and make them a comfortable living condition with an affordable expenses.
